August at The Woodhouse Barn

August is an amazing month for Welsh grown flowers, the Dahlias are getting into their stride, then the Cosmos, Strawflowers, herbs, seed pods and grasses add texture and colour to create a vibrantly dancing wildflower vibe.

This was exactly the look we were aiming for at Hannah and Harri’s Woodhouse Barn Wedding in Pembrokeshire.

The Hen House Ceremony Room

At The Woodhouse Barn, the ceremony itself takes place in a gorgeous wooden roundhouse called The Hen House. Hannah and Harri loved the idea of having rustic milk churns framing the entrance to the Hen House. We then placed a series of mixed height vases down the aisle to make it extra pretty.

We also added a few vases clustered at each end of the ceremony table and placed a meadow box in front of the table itself.

A meadow box is a great option for a ceremony space as guests can still clearly see the signing of the register while providing a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony itself.

Hannah’s bouquet was a continuation of the colourful wildflower theme, she opted for a round bouquet, with a loose and natural feel.

The Bridesmaid’s bouquets were a smaller version of Hannah’s, very loose and wild. We think Emma Kathleen MUA did an amazing job keeping the makeup really natural, all the girls glowed and looked stunning in their mixed colour dresses.

For the buttonholes, we opted for Strawflowers with seed pods and Hypericum berries.

We’re really loving the photos by Bristol based Photographer Simon Withyman he totally captured the laid back, joyful atmosphere beautifully.

All the flowers from the ceremony room were repurposed to decorate the barn where the wedding breakfast is held. In addition to the milk churns flanking the staircase, a flower cloud was added to the top of the stairs for extra impact.

The mixed height vases were placed in clusters on the guest tables, with stones that the couple had painted the table names onto.

We think the wildflower vibe suited the venue and the couple so perfectly. Hannah contacted us after the wedding and said:

‘The flowers were absolutely perfect! They were such beautiful colours and really complemented the venue, so many of our guests mentioned how amazing they looked! Thank you so much for being so wonderful and helpful throughout, we're so grateful’

Llongyfarchiadau Hannah and Harri, thank you so much for choosing us for your special day!
